Scotty McCreery is returning to where it all began. The country singer and former American Idol winner will be featured on an episode of the Farewell Season of American Idol on Feb. 11.

McCreery will spend time mentoring two of American Idol's Top 24 contestants, sharing his own lessons learned from his experience on the show, as well as when he branched out into the country music world. Additionally, McCreery will perform duets with each singer.

"I remember how important it was to me during my time on Idol to meet and learn from all the great artists who visited the set and offered their advice," McCreery says in a press release. "I was proud to be able to come back and offer whatever guidance I could to my two talented contestants. This is their season and their show. I was there to help them shine ... and I believe they both did!"

McCreery won Season 10 of American Idol in 2011 when he was just 17 years old. He soon made history as the youngest artist and the first male country artist to debut his first album at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with Clear as Day. He has gone on to sell more than 2.5 million albums.

Currently on tour, McCreery will release his first book, Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream, on May 3. The book will highlight McCreery’s story, starting with his childhood in Garner, N.C., to winning American Idol in 2011 and releasing two studio albums.

“God gave me a voice and America gave me a chance,” McCreery explains. “This book is about those two things.”
