There's a nightly ritual that takes place in Providence, Rhode Island that I think the neighbors living around Sanford Children's hospital should consider doing.

For one sparkling minute each night, blinking lights from skyscrapers to police cruisers send a goodnight message to sick kids at the Hasbro Children's Hospital.

It all started six years ago with a single bike light cheering up one single patient. It has since become a nightly ritual for the city of over a million people.

Kids inside the Children's Hospital wait for 8:30 PM when complete strangers flash their "Good Night Lights." All the kids get their own flashlight to return the gesture.
