Former Major League baseball star Roger Clemens expressed sadness over the news of the suicide of Country star Mindy McCready. According to the Associated Press, Clemens continues to deny the two ever had an illicit relationship.

(AP) - Former baseball great Roger Clemens calls Mindy McCready's death "sad news." He says he had heard "she was trying to get peace and direction in her life" and McCready and her agent were extremely nice the few times he saw her.

McCready had claimed in April 2008 she had a longtime relationship with Clemens. She had said they met at a Florida karaoke bar when she was 15 and he was 28 and married. Clemens denies the relationship.

Meanwhile, the AP reports McCready's children are in foster care.

(AP) - Mindy McCready's children were not with her when she was found dead. Authorities confirm McCready's two sons were in foster care.

Her ex-boyfriend, Billy McKnight, is the father of McCready's elder son, Zander. He says he's working to get custody of Zander but he does not know the details of the younger son, Zayne, who was born last year.

Zayne's father is musician David Wilson, who was found dead at McCready's home last month of an apparent suicide. The children were put in foster care earlier this month when McCready's father expressed concern that she was abusing drugs.
