Results of the I-229 26th Street Interchange Study to Be Released

The South Dakota Department of Transportation, along with the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization and the City of Sioux Falls, will hold a public open house on Wednesday, January 14 to inform area residents of the recommendations resulting from the Interstate 229 26th Street Corridor Study.

• Building Momentum Toward Highway 100 Construction in 2015

Those areas that would be affected are:

• I-229 Exit 5 (26^th Street) Interchange

• 26^th Street from Cliff Avenue to Village Square Circle

• Yeager Road from 26^th Street to 33^rd Street

• 33^rd Street from Cliff Avenue to Yeager Road

• Southeastern Avenue from 18^th Street to 33^rd Street

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at John Harris Elementary School, located at 3501 East 49^th Street in Sioux Falls. A brief presentation will be made at 5:35 p.m. followed by an open house discussion with city, state and consultant staff.

Copies of the study will also be available for public review at the SDDOT Sioux Falls Area Office, 5316 W. 60th Street North; or at the City of Sioux Falls Public Works Office at City Hall, 224 W. Ninth Street
