A rewarding endeavor is underway on west 12th street in Sioux Falls. Veteran Robert Ruff is working to repaint the USS South Dakota Battleship Memorial.

In the above video, from Argus Leader reporter Jon Walker, you can see what some of the repainting entails. Listen as he describes some of the accomplishments of the brave crew of the USS South Dakota.

Thank you, Mr. Ruff, for not only serving admirably in our great United States military, but for renovating and repainting the Battleship Memorial.

The people who served in World War II, we're losing them everyday. They'd be in their late 80's and early 90's so it's up the younger generation to step forward and take care of these important monuments." - Robert Ruff

If you see Mr. Ruff working on the project, buy him a lunch or just stop by to thank him for his service.
