This Christmas season, I would challenge you to take advantage of the time you're about to spend with family and friends.

Several years ago, while I was on Christmas break from college, I had the opportunity to spend the most wonderful afternoon with my Grandparents.

As part of a class project, I spent the better part of an entire day interviewing my grandparents.  We talked about everything from where the family came from, to how they first met and what they did on their first date.

Yet to this day, it's one of my fondest memories of them - what a gift they gave me.

It was almost as if Grandma and Grandpa got younger before my eyes with each story they told.  That afternoon, there was a twinkle in their eyes like I've never seen before.

Even though Grandma and Grandpa have been gone now for several years, I often think about them this time of year.

If you're lucky enough to still have your grandparents around - please don't miss out on a wonderful opportunity.

In this day-in-age of high-tech gadgetry, there's no excuse for not videotaping your family get together.

Sit the family down in the living room and start asking Grandma and Grandpa questions - and watch the memories unfold.

Trust me, the day WILL COME when those family memories (and hopefully videos) will be among your most valuable possessions.

And what a wonderful gift to leave behind for your grand kids.

Merry Christmas!
