We had a discussion on the radio this morning about, what I referred to as, "Lutheran Coffee."

When I was growing up, the ladies in our church would brew coffee every Sunday morning by first dropping a raw egg on top of the coffee grounds.

What purpose it actually served, I don't know.  More flavor perhaps?

Other listeners then phoned in and said they knew it growing up as Cowboy Coffee, Norwegian Coffee, Camping Coffee, Farmer in the Dell Coffee, Church Basement Coffee and Egg Coffee - just to name a few.

Have you ever had coffee like this and, if so, did you drop the egg on top of the grounds like the ladies in my church or did you mix the two together?

I'd be interested in hearing from you.  I'll pass along some of your comments tomorrow morning.
