A Redfield man died Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash three miles west of White Lake, in Aurora County, on Interstate 90.

The Highway Patrol says 82-year-old Donald Lewis was driving a 1988 Harley-Davidson FLTC motorcycle west around 9:18 a.m. His 12-year-old granddaughter was a passenger, and other members of Lewis's family were also riding motorcycles and traveling with him.

The Patrol says Lewis left the roadway and went into the ditch where he lost control of the motorcycle and rolled. Both Lewis and his granddaughter were thrown from the motorcycle and Lewis sustained fatal injuries.

His granddaughter had minor injuries. Both were wearing helmets.
