Shania Twain may be a Drake fan, but Drake is definitely a Shania Twain fan. After the two posed for a photo before his show in Nashville, the rapper dedicated his set to the '90s and early '00s country superstar on Sunday night (Aug. 14).

Both Twain and Drake are Canadian, so there's a geographic bond. The 29-year-old says he grew up a fan of the country legend. The Tennessean reports that he announced her presence mid-set, saying, "So this next set, right here, I'm doing this for Shania. This is my love set for Shania, right here."

Twain doesn't live in Nashville full-time, but she's reportedly in town recording new music. Earlier this month she tweeted that she was "on a roll," although there have been few details about the nature and timeline for her project. She's recorded several songs in the last decade-plus since her Up! album was released (2002). In 2015 she told the USA Today that fans can expect something totally different.

“It’s so entirely different,” she said. “It’s better for me to say it right now. That songwriting is just so different.”

A tour will not follow the album's release. Twain's 2015 Rock This Country Tour was her final major tour, although she indicated she'll still play select shows and venues. She did not perform with Drake at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, but she did retweet his Instagram photo.
