I woke up Saturday morning and saw my youngest son Tad saying,

'look at all that water in the back yard, it's never been that high has it Dad?'   Look at it.  It's going through the yard like a river.

Actually, we have seen it higher.  A lot higher, but it was refreshing to see it coming down.  Real refreshing to see it coming down in the form of rain!

Don't get me wrong, I know we need the moisture and we'll surely get more snow before winter finally lets go.  But there's something nice about a spring rain.  I love the smell.  As of 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sioux Falls had already received about 60 hundredths of an inch of rain.

I also can't help but thinking about our friends who are in the middle of calving season.  Or perhaps they're just getting started.  It seems like when the weather starts to get sloppy and wet, they are at the busiest time of the year.

If you go a little bit to the north, you'll run into snow this weekend.  So keep an eye on road conditions and we'll keep you up to date on Kickin' Country as well.   In fact, here's your current weather conditions in Sioux Falls right now.

Here's hoping your livestock is warm and dry today and tonight.  And that your calves are healthy and standing up.  I know spring doesn't start for a week or two, but it's already starting to feel like it!
