Put down that grilled cheese and think twice about putting a slice on your turkey sandwich!

Kraft has voluntarily recalled 36,000 cases of Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized prepared cheese because of a possible choking hazard.

The Kraft Heinz Company has issued a statement saying that a piece of the thin plastic wrapper surrounding the Singles has the chance of sticking to the cheese which could cause someone to choke. Already about 377,000 packages of affected cheese Kraft Singles have been shipped in the United States with some consumers reporting the plastic wrapper sticking to a cheese slice, resulting in choking.

Kraft says that the recall includes some three and four pound packages of American and white American slices and have a 'best when used by' date between December 29, 2015, and January 4, 2016 along with the manufacturing code 'S54' or 'S55.'

Check your refrigerators and if you own a package that is included in the recall, you can return it to the store for an exchange or a refund.
