The Better Business Bureau and the Sioux Empire CrimeStoppers are presenting their annual Shred-It Event, on Saturday, April 16, 2015 at multiple locations here in Sioux Falls. This is great news for people like me who hate to spend quality time shredding sensitive documents, (Sounds intriguing doesn't it? Don't worry it's not.) in the living room, while watching episodes of The Forensic Files.

This is a great way for you to get rid of credit card offers that pile up in your mailbox, old bills, checks (if you use them- -yes I still write the occasional check) and anything else you don't want potential identity thieves digging through your recycling or trash for in order to make your life miserable. Ask anyone who has had their identity stolen, (like my sister Carolyn) it is a long, unpleasant road back.

So box up your shredables and bring them to:

  • Minnwest Bank at 57th & Louise (West Side location)
  • East 10th St. Shopko parking lot (East Side location)
  • Washington Pavilion parking lot/ramp at 13th & Main (Downtown location)

Dakota Data Shred is offering additional shredding times April 18-22, 2016 from 8 AM to 3 PM at their corporate office at 5000 W. 8th Street if you can't make it to one of the shredding locations this weekend.

There is a $5 per box suggested donation and those funds support the Sioux Empire CrimeStoppers and law enforcement in their efforts to fight crime in our community. So you are protecting yourself and your community by participating in this event!
