American Idol ended its run less than a year ago, but there's already talk of a potential revival of the show on another network.

The infamous singing competition show lasted 12 years and 15 seasons on FOX, making performers like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood household names.

Idol started off with a bang in the early 2000s, but the past few years its viewing numbers gradually declined, eventually taking second place to The Voice.

FOX may be done with the show for good, but NBC could be the network to revamp it.

According to Varietyproduction company Fremantle Media pitched the idea to NBC and it seems as if the network is seriously considering it. Word is that NBC is considering cutting The Voice to just one season per year, rather than one in the spring and in the fall. This would make room for another reality singing competition to air.

Are you a fan of American Idol, or would you prefer to watch The Voice year-round?
