You had a great run chocolate and peanut butter. The latest "two great tastes that taste great together" idea comes from a brewery in Minnesota, which is now making popcorn beer.

Beer and popcorn have enjoyed a terrific friendship for generations, so it only makes sense for a couple of friends and business-owners to combine the two. Mankato Brewing and fellow Minnesotan Angie's Boomchickapop popcorn have gotten together to create Boomchickapop Popcorn Ale.

Angie is quick to point out that it doesn't taste like popcorn, but rather has a "fruity aroma and delivers an earthy, yet slightly sweet taste."

The Belgian ale is brewed using real air-popped popcorn as a source of starch. The beer will hit stores in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area later this week and will only be a one-time release.

At this time, it is only available in the local watering holes in the Mankato area - for now.
