During the Police Media Briefing on Wednesday, Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a female jogger was attacked on the bike trial around 7:30 A.M.

"She was near Cherry Rock Park just past Cliff Avenue when this guy jumped out of the trees and grabbed her around the face and head. He pulled the victim to the ground. She started screaming and yelling and fought back. He ended up letting her go. He jumped on his bicycle and took off to the north. She actually saw this guy a few times earlier when she was jogging. He passed her once on the bicycle. She saw him sitting on a park bench later on and then he passed her another time before she saw the bike next to the trail. The guy wasn't around. That's when he jumped out and grabbed at her. We're thankful she was not injured. We are still trying to find the man."

Clemens offers this description of the attacker.

"The suspect is a Native American man, mid to late teens, with short black spikey  hair. He was wearing a black tank top with light stripes on the sides. The bike was a 20 inch, black BMX brand."

Clemens says this is the first assault that has taken place on the city's bike trail.
