A clerk at a gas station in southwest Sioux Falls noticed odd behavior from a customer on Wednesday.

"He was grabbing different fruit cups and squeezing them until they popped," according to Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens.

"He had some other odd things he was doing inside the store. But, eventually he bought something else and then left."

That's when a store employee called police.

"They did the right thing by getting a description of the car and the license plate number. Police were able to track down the car at the owner's home and found out it was a relative that had been driving the car," said Clemens.

"While the officers were talking to the man they noticed odd behavior and thought he might be under the influence of some drugs. Inside the car they found a small amount of marijuana, [and] a scale that had some meth residue on it. He was arrested for the drug charges. Once he was taken to jail, a drug recognition expert did some testing on the man and found out he was under the influence of drugs. He was also charged with DWI."

Clemens says 31-year-old Zachary Neely of Sioux Falls reportedly told police he liked the popping sound of the fruit cups when he squeezed them.
