A Sioux Falls man is behind bars after he allegedly put a neighbor in a choke hold after a foot chase in the 500 Block of North Walts Avenue on Sunday.

"One walked past the other and then the suspect wanted to fight the man," according to Police Spokesman Sam Clemens. "Victim ran away. The suspect chased him. They ended up back at the victim's house where the suspect kicked open the front door and put the victim in a choke hold."

"They were able to get separated when police arrived," continued Clemens. "The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault and 1st degree burglary."

Clemens says the suspect, who had been drinking, is identified as 52-year-old Richard Langenfeld the second of Sioux Falls.
