A Sioux Falls man faces numerous charges in connection with the false imprisonment of a 17-year-old girl and possession of child pornography.

Police Lt. Michael Colwill says the victim had gone to an apartment of a person she knows to charge her cell phone.

"While she was at that location, the suspect locked the doors to the residence and refused to let her leave. The victim was eventually able to leave the apartment and contacted the police department. The victim also provided information that she believed the suspect was in possession of child pornography. The victim said she saw child pornography images on the suspect's electronic media inside the residence. Based upon the information, we did apply for and receive a search warrant."

Colwill identified the suspect as 32-year-old Steven Clancy of Sioux Falls.

"Steven was eventually arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, false imprisonment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana (less than two ounces) and possession of paraphernalia. Based upon the search warrant, authorities collected several items of electronic media and are still examining the items. There is a possibility there will be future charges."

Colwill doesn't believe Clancy was manufacturing child pornography.
