This is not a post about Star Wars. It's about Fandango.

Thursday night I was planning on taking my oldest son to the 7:00 PM showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Last minute he decided he wanted to go to the gym and play instead of come with me.

My younger son said he wanted to go, which I was hesitant about. He's almost five. He probably would have fallen asleep during the movie at best, and at worst he would have been a terror in the aisles.

While he was eating his supper before we were going to leave, he says something about how excited he was to go see Ninjago again.

"Buddy, we aren't going to Ninjago. We're going to Star Wars," I said.

"I don't want to go to that!" he said.

Great. So now I have two tickets and don't know what to do. I was scrolling around on the Fandango app looking at how to scan the code for my tickets. When I found it there was a link that said "Can't make it to this showing?"

What? Really? I can switch my tickets? Get a credit? I clicked the link to find out. I was able to get a full refund on my tickets, sans the $1.50 convenience fee for each ticket.

Oh, thank God! I refunded the two tickets and bought one ticket to the 9:00 PM showing. Even better, I got a perfect seat by arriving 90 minutes before the show. Second to the back row and sitting dead center.

So now you know you can actually buy a ticket to a movie way in advance and still get a refund last minute. Thanks, Fandango!
