The 3rd weekend in October is the beginning of cherished memories for hunters here in our state.

It's the opening of the South Dakota Pheasant season for all hunters beginning Saturday, October 15, 2016.

Thousands of avid hunters and outdoor enthusiasts will be working corn fields and other prime habitat in hopes of bagging their limits of the state bird.  And, the economic impact is in the millions of dollars.

If you're planning any travel though the Sioux Falls Regional Airport for the next few weeks please check your flights before you go.  Additional flights into Sioux Falls are common during the hunting season.

And one other thing, show them some Midwest hospitality.  Give them a smile, and say, "we've been expecting you!"
