People Love Their Pets
How much do you love your pet? According to recent studies, people are putting their furry family members higher and higher on their list and willing to do much more for them.
In a survey done by Consumer Reports, 14 percent of those polled said that “price was no object” when it came to buying the best food for their pets. And 1 percent of the pet owners actually said, “I make most of my pet’s meals myself.”
Surveys also say that the typical pet owner would gladly pay a vet an average of $1,620 to save their pet’s life. Breaking that down, average dog owners would pay $1,824 and average cat owners would pay $1,309 to keep their faithful friends with them longer. And veterinarians are aware that people love their pets like family, so when the time comes, many try to make the loss easier to take. Many send cards of condolences with personal notes or small tokens of remembrance.
