In about a month the new Lewis store is set to open at 37th Street and Minnesota Avenue. It will replace the current location at 41st and Minnesota.

To prepare for the increased traffic, a new surface is being added to 37th Street. By doing so, the new entrance points on the north side of the building will be able to handle the influx of vehicles.

Previously the area was home to a car dealership.

Temporarily closing the street won’t be anything new for motorists in that area. Drivers have been dealing with close quarters through the deconstruction of the old structure, building the new building and constructing the approaches from 37th Street into the soon-to-be parking spaces.

Here’s to the conclusion of transforming this area into a hub of retail activity. It will no doubt be an early Christmas present.
