Joseph Patterson, who is accused in the death of Tyrese Ruffin, was in Lincoln County court Tuesday to face a bond hearing. Patterson was deemed in violation of the bond agreement because of phone and text messages made to Tyrese’s mother in January.

Judge Bradley Zell revoked the $1 million bond in both Lincoln and Minnehaha County. However, Zell ruled that the non-refundable status of the bond will be waived so the money will be returned to Patterson's father.

Judge Zell also ruled that Patterson will remain in Jail until his trial on the death of 2-year old Tyrese Ruffin. Start date for the court proceedings is scheduled for September 8, 2015.

Patterson was charged in Lincoln County in October 2013 with second-degree murder, manslaughter and aggravated assault in the death of Ruffin, the biological son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. He originally was released from custody on a $750,000 bond.
