SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — It is a story that outraged residents of Sioux Falls. A local paramedic was accused of stealing money from a dead woman. Now that paramedic has been arrested.

According to Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sam Clemens police noted a wallet and cash at the home of woman who had passed away. After paramedics from Paramedics Plus left, police noticed the money was missing.

The same amount of money was later found in the paramedic's backpack.

The 35-year-old Sioux Falls man, who has not been identified, was arrested on a petty theft charge. Michael Bureau, a spokesman for Paramedics Plus, says the employee has been terminated.

The paramedic will make his first court appearance July 29th.
