Our Siouxland Libraries have joined Operation Paperback and are asking for your help this March with gathering gently used paperback books for our military troops serving in Afghanistan.

All during the month of March, the Siouxland Library branches will be collecting paperbacks which will then be shipped to American troops. The libraries ask that you bring in standard size paperbacks (all the same size) so that they can pack as many as possible into fewer boxes to bring the cost of shipping down.

Operation Paperback was founded in Pennsylvania and has been sending gently used paperbacks to American troops overseas, as well as veterans and military families here in the U.S. since 1999 for a whopping 1.9 million books shipped around the world.

So, there are a number of ways you can donate- -simply drop paperbacks off at any Siouxland Library branch in our area during the month of March or by going to Operation Paperback's website and donating there.
