One of the sculptures that was vandalized in the middle of the night nearly three weeks ago is back in its original spot in downtown Sioux Falls.

Crews delivered the restored the "Book Peddlers" sculpture to the same spot where it once stood, across the street from Minerva’s restaurant on Thursday.

Workers from Bronze Age Art Casting had been analyzing and repairing the sculpture after it was found at Menlo Park.

The director of the SculptureWalk Tour in Sioux Falls, Jim Clark, says he hopes more can be done to prevent this type of thing from happening again in the future.

The plan is to possibly add more security cameras to downtown Sioux Falls.

Clark said, "I think the lighting is sufficient but I think the lighting department is going to look at what they can do to improve the lighting for safety and security of sculptures and the public."

The "Book Peddlers" sculpture is valued at just over $25,000.

Another sculpture, "The Raven" was also vandalized that same night, it suffered significant damage and is still being repaired.

The individuals responsible for the vandalism are still at large.
