Think you have what it takes or at least know of someone that raises hogs that could earn the title of America's Pig Farmer of the Year? If so, the National Pork Board wants to hear from you.

The National Pork Board is looking for pig farmers that use environmentally friendly practices, but also focus on the welfare of their animals that could carry the title of America's Pig Farmer of the Year. Applications and nominations are being accepted until May 17, 2015 at AmericasPigFarmer.com.

The award will honor the pork producer who best excels at raising pigs using the We Care ethical principles and wants to showcase how he or she does that with the public.

Helping to find the winner of America's Pig Farmer of the Year are a group of third party judges that also include Chris Soules, the Iowa farmer who has been the star of "The Bachelor' and 'Dancing With The Stars."

The official winner will be announced in October during National Pork Month.
