A group of ninth-grade girls won't be getting into any trouble after the swimmers hired a male stripper to perform at their synchronized-swimming club banquet. The students attend Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa and are members of the synchronized swimming club the Sharks.

The principal of Roosevelt High School, Kevin Biggs, decided not to punish the girls for their actions because he said no school rules were broken. The swimming club raises their own funds and is not operated through the school. However, after the "performance", the school district will now be putting the swim club under the control of Roosevelt High School, with plans to pay the supervisor using school funds and draw up new rules and guidelines that the club must follow.

Even though the male stripper was a request by one of the young girls, he was actually booked by the adult sister of one of the swimmers, and performed for about 15 minutes before an employee of the Des Moines Social Club stopped him. The stripper was never totally naked and had no physical contact with any of the underage girls.

Despite the school's conduct codes stating that students must represent themselves and their school in a positive manner, Biggs said the group of 14 and 15-year olds considered the stripper to simply be a "joke and a prank", and like any students that age, "did not think of the ramifications."
