State Senator Tim Rave from District 25, north of Sioux Falls, was recently elected as Majority Leader of the Republicans in the Senate. He will be on KSOO's Viewpoint University this afternoon.

He replaces Russell Olson, who resigned to take a larger job with Heartland Power. Senator Rave will be making those all important committee assignments soon. The Republican party has solid majorities in both houses of the legislature. However, that does not always mean smooth sailing, as there are divisions within the party, which can, and probably will make the wind gusty and the water choppy.

One of the big decisions to be made this session is about joining the Medicaid Expansion effort from the Federal Government

Senator Rave's full time job is manager of Rural Metro Ambulance Service.
