The biggest battle this year so far at Huset's Speedway, has been with Mother Nature. Another bout took place Sunday night and this time the track won.

It started sprinkling right at race time, but the fans, racers and track officials didn't give in. Everybody stuck it out until the rain stopped and the track was reworked for action.

After an hour delay, racing got underway. And it was well worth the wait because the racing was very good.

Jody Rosenboom of Rock Rapids, Iowa held off a super tough field working thru lap traffic flawlessly. He had just welcomed a new baby boy into the world earlier in the week and dedicated the victory to him. The new dad had this to say in victory lane,

You can’t ask for a better car than that. I felt we had the car to do it. Unless something went wrong, I knew we could win tonight.

Rosenboom held Ian Madsen to second and Logan Forler to third. Dusty Zomer was fourth and Tim Kaeding fifth. The 25 lap outlaw sprint feature that we are talking about had one caution after 12 laps complete.

The 305's were won by Casey Abbas for a second time this season. Corey Forseth of Knoxville, Iowa won in his first ever appearance at the track in the micro sprints.

The closest finish of the night was in the street stocks with Shaun Taylor beating out Matt Stuerwald by .08 seconds. Jim Baartman, of Colton, South Dakota, got his first ever career win at Huset's by taking the hobby stock feature. See complete results of all divisions.
