Netflix has just announced its raising the price for its most popular U.S. video streaming plan by 10% - their first rate increase in nearly two years.

For the plan that allows viewers to simultaneously watch programs on two different internet connected devices the price will go from $10 to $11 a month.

For the plan that includes 4K video, that monthly cost will go up by 17%, from $12 a month to $14 a month.

And the plan that limits subscribers to one screen at a time without high definition will remain at $8 a month.

The new prices will go into affect October 19. Subscribers will then have 30 days to accept the higher rate, switch to a cheaper plan or cancel the service.
