NASCAR Driver Mike Wallace Assaulted, Hospitalized After Rascal Flatts Concert

Longtime NASCAR driver Mike Wallace was hospitalized after being violently assaulted following a Rascal Flatts concert in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday night (June 17).

According to multiple media reports, Wallace and his daughter, Lindsey, were attacked at PNC Music Pavilion after attending the Flatts show. Wallace tells WBTV news that three men he has never met approached him and his daughter and attacked them, repeatedly punching them and kicking them. He says he is still distraught about the "beat down."

"We've never been through anything like this," Wallace states.

According to Wallace, three of his front teeth have been knocked a few inches into his mouth, his black eye is causing impaired vision and his lip received 10 stitches. His daughter was taken away from the parking lot in a stretcher and moved to the hospital, WBTV reports

"They just knocked me out. When I come to, my daughter is laying on the ground, my son-in-law were on top of me trying to protect me," Wallace says. "They were kicking me, beating on me."

Wallace's brother, Kenny Wallace, is a NASCAR analyst. He's been tweeting about the assault, spreading info about the alleged assailants and sharing photos of his family members' injuries.

Motorsport.com reports that three men have been arrested and charged in relation to the crime. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Nathan Lucas of Indian Trail, N.C., and Randolph Mangum of Monroe, N.C, were arrested early Saturday and charged with simple assault. Paul Lucas was arrested on Friday night and charged with assault on a female. No address was listed for Lucas.

Lucas, 22, was released on $1,000 secured bond, and 24-year-old Mangum was released on $1,000 unsecured bond. Paul Lucas, 29, was released on a $1,500 secured bond. The three alleged assailants have have a court appearance set for July 22 in Mecklenburg County District Court.
