My Family Thinks I’m Going Deaf, We’ll Soon Know if They’re Right!
It started with a simple can you say that again. Now it seems to have gotten a little more pronounced. After years 30-plus of wearing headphones everyday I've come to the realization that I might need a little help hearing. Actually that's not entirely correct, my family and in particular my wife thinks I need a little help
Today I decided to stop by and make an appointment to see if indeed I do have a hearing issue. I stopped into Audiology Specialty Clinic on S. Western Avenue in Sioux Falls today and made an appointment. I couldn't help it noticing a couple of interesting things when I walked into the office.
One of the first things I noticed was the TV sound was turned way down and the words were scrolling at the bottom of the screen. I thought to myself, that makes sense, sort of, especially with those people who do have a hearing issue. I couldn't help but think it was kind of funny though to have the sound way down and to emphasize the fact that maybe I don't hear so well on the way in
It's a quick little life journey that I'll take you on over the next few days. I'll keep you posted as to if I have any hearing loss or not.
I do know that my eyesight has changed as I've grown older, my guess is that maybe my hearing isn't what it used to be either. We'll wait and see and keep you posted.
How about you. Do you have a parent, or grandparent, or maybe a child who may be going through the same thing? If you do, let me know. And thanks ahead of time for sharing this story with your Facebook and Twitter friends.
