Is it opportunity for possible good fortune or potential disaster? The calendar plus a tradition will set up an occasional Halloween event.

Considering that we had the blood moon a few weeks back, it should not be surprising that Halloween will have an extra hour to navigate in 2015. The change to Standard Time for most Americans will occur on Sunday November 1.

Since 2007, Daylight Saving Time has ended on the first Sunday in November. Thus the potential of Halloween revelry will have an extra hour to proliferate.

Not that an extra hour would contribute mightily to mayhem. Other factors such as weather, major events, police presence and personal restraint have a little more sway.

Should it be cold, rainy or snowy the potential revelry tends to decrease. On college campuses, a home football game on Halloween tends to increase the chance of craziness.

Word to the wise, the constables know there’s an extra hour on Hallow’s eve. Guarantee it that they will be looking out for the devils all night long.
