It's becoming quite commonplace in sports these days; suspensions for less-than-desirable conduct.  Only this time, the penalty is being handed down to someone I'm not even sure even qualifies as an athlete.

The fifth-ranked dart player in the world, James 'The Machine' Wade has been suspended for the next four Professional Darts Corporation tournaments.

So what was it?

PEDs?

Match fixing?

A run-in with the law?

Nope.

It turns out that Wade has a bad attitude.

According to the Darts Regulation Authority:

As a result of a series of referrals to the Darts Regulation Authority relating to the behavior of James Wade at PDC Tour events.

It all falls under rule 4.1 in the DRA rule book (I actually wrote that with a straight face):

No player or member shall act in a manner which may reasonably be considered to injure or discredit the DRA or bring the game of darts into disrepute.

If you're looking for specifics, the DRA isn't providing any.  But to get a glimpse of how intense things can get in a dart competition, direct your attention to the 2012 video above.  That's 'The Hammer' and Adrian Lewis throwing a fit over, of all things, a creaky floorboard!

Bad behavior isn't just limited to the dart throwers.  Remember this from the edgy world of badminton earlier this year?
