In somewhat of an unprecidented move, Major League Baseball has suspended LA Dodgers Chase Utley for his slide in Game 2 of the NLDS against the New York Mets.

Utley slid into second base to try and break up a double play in the bottom half of the seventh inning and because it was a late slide accompanied with the contact he created with Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada.

Tejada unfortunately would suffer a broken leg in the collision.

Personally, I found it to be a hard slide that I've seen many times before in MLB and never seen the two game suspension, not to mention during the playoffs.

My opinion doesn't matter in regards to the appeal, which Utley will do and MLB has said they look to make the appeal speedy and have it complete before Game 3 as Utley would be able to play while the appeal is being heard.

Judge for yourself, here is the look at the controversial play in Game 2 of the NLDS.

Here is what Chase Utley had to say after the win for the Dodgers in Game 2 and his reaction to the play as well.
