MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - The parents of a baby girl who died after allegedly being beaten by another child at an in-home day care in Mitchell have settled out of court with the day care's owner.

Details of the civil lawsuit settlement between parents Donald Howard and Amy Ruml and day care owner Lacey Tebay are confidential. Attorneys for both parties declined comment to The Daily Republic newspaper (http://bit.ly/UKdCzT).

Howard and Ruml sued Tebay after the June 19, 2012, death of 3-month-old Brooklyn Howard, claiming that Tebay was negligent and asking a jury to determine damages.

Authorities did not file any criminal charges in the death.
