The Minnesota Vikings released cornerback A.J. Jefferson, following his arrest for domestic assault.

Jefferson, was arrested by police in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie Monday morning just before 7.

According to a police statement:

A 23-year-old woman reported she was a victim of domestic assault at about 4:30 a.m. CT. Jefferson was arrested at his home and is now in Hennepin County Jail.

Jefferson, in his fourth NFL season, left  Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with a neck injury.

He has five tackles and an interception this season.
