I've always thought Mel McDaniel is one of those over-looked great country artist's.

Mel had a great career with several Top Ten hit's like 'Louisiana Saturday Night (1981)', 'Big Ole Brew (1982), and 'I Call It Love (1983). But the one that put Mel 'over-the-top' and etched his name (and song) in country music history came in 1984, and 1985.

If you were a country music fan that year, chances are you'd crank that radio up everythime you heard 'Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On'. And you heard it a lot! Recorded in August of '84, the song climbed and climbed and climbed the chart, and hit #1 in February, 1985. And you can bet Mel never did a concert for the rest of his life where he didn't sing 'Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On'.

Sadly we lost Mel to lung cancer in 2011 at the much too young age of 68.
