March Came In Like a Lion and is Leaving the Same Darn Way
Mother Nature has a way of making us wait. She likes to tease us for a while and then make us wait just a little bit more.
Take this weekend for example. Saturday and Sunday we have a couple of nice days. Trees are starting to bud. We're expecting temperatures in the 50's and 60's. Now, it's Saturday morning and I read this tweet from Todd Heitkamp of the National Weather Service.
This isn't a cruel April Fool's joke, but I wish it was. Blizzard Watch for Monday for portions of the area. Stay tuned! #sdwx, #mnwx
Fast forward to Monday afternoon. Interstate is closed from Rapid City to Wall. Anything West River is Tough Wintertime driving!
It's not that we had that 'tough of a winter' here in Sioux Falls. Personally, I judge a tough winter by the number of times I have to 'blow or shovel' out the end of the driveway. I had to do that 'Twice.' Heck, some years I've had to do that twice a week.
Really, we've had a pretty 'easy' winter here in Sioux Falls. It's been cold as heck, but when you look at the amounts of snow some of the eastern states have picked up I think you would agree.
But to tease us one more time with an awesome weekend, and then with a Blizzard Watch to look forward to as we head back to work on Monday. That does seem kind of cruel.
