Man Saves Beer From Fire
There are many things someone might save if their home was on fire. Definitely family and pets and maybe even family pictures. But a Georgia man recently risked his own life to go back in his house to save his beer.
Walter Serpit was home with 5 other adults and 2 children when the fire started. Serpit, who uses a cane to walk, was able to escape the home with the others, but then realized he left his beer back in the fridge.
Risking his life, Serpit went back into the house and was able to escape the flames and rescue several cans of beer without being burned.
Serpit admits that he was a dummy for going back into the burning building after he had told everyone to get the kids and get out. But he also admits that he has a problem with alcohol and wants everyone to try to understand why he went back into the fire by saying, “I was just trying to get my beer out…you feel me?”
The residents of the home are blaming a water heater for starting the fire, and remember, firefighters say you should never run into a burning building. Not even for beer.
