A South Dakota man made a startling discovery recently at a Watertown gas station. At first, Herb Brown thought it was a pepper shaker he had kicked aside, but a closer look revealed it was a small urn containing ashes.

Worried that the urn could contain ashes of a loved one, Brown has placed ads on local newspapers and radio stations, but so far no one has responded, nor has anyone reported a missing urn.

The urn is about three inches high, black with gold flaking and a screw-on top, and apparently contains ashes from a cremation. The urn does not have any engravings or crematory coins to identify the contents.

The ad placed in the Public Opinion simply says, "Found: Small urn. Contains ashes. Call to identify. (605)651-3514."
