Local Businesses Get Award
It’s a program that recognizes South Dakota businesses that train their staff to show exceptional customer service and also different ways to let the customer know they are appreciated. It’s called The Great Service Star Program, and the South Dakota Department of Tourism awards the businesses a star symbol to be displayed at their business and to be used when they market their business. In 44 different communities, The South Dakota Department of Tourism has awarded 129 businesses and organizations throughout South Dakota with this award.
Jim Hagen, Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism says that South Dakota has a reputation as a place that always offers great service to customers and The Great Service Star program is one way to insure that the great reputation will continue with future visitors.
Some of the Great Service Star Program 2014 designees are from Sioux Falls, Brandon, Mitchell, Brookings, Yankton and Lake Andes. To get a complete list of the locations and businesses represented by the Great Service Star Program click here.
