They're up. The lights on the house and the tree inside. And I for one am happy to say it's done! If you know me, you know that nothing comes easy.

For instance, the lights. You could look at the house today and say, 'I'll bet he put them up when it was 70 degrees out.' I didn't.

The weekend before, it was Sunday morning. I had been out hunting for west river deer. I had been out on pheasant hunting trips. Work had been busy. I just wanted them up and I didn't care what happened. I wanted to watch the Packer game that afternoon.

It was windy. It was raining. But there I was. Up on the roof putting on Christmas lights. People were driving by looking at me like I was one bulb short of a full string. They had good reason.

Then, Thanksgiving came. While I was at a Billion Toyota remote, my wife put the tree up.

So, we're done.

No, our house isn't a Martha Stewart kind of a place, but we're set. We're ready!

Now, we can take a little time and get ready for what's really important. Spending a little time with family and friends and getting ready for the true meaning of Christmas!
