The fight that many of us sports fans have been waiting for is finally set, as Manny Pacquaio and Floyd "Money" Mayweather will get into the ring.

The bout is set for May 2nd, 2015 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand.

All that considered, should we even be excited about this fight considering how long it has taken to get this scheduled?

If this was 2010 I would say absolutely yes, but since we're in 2015, I would say no.

I will be watching because I am a big boxing fan and even more so a fan of both of these fighters, but I can unequivocally say my excitement level will be much less than that of a fight between these two say four to five years ago.

Even though the excitement level on my front may be down, its expected that this fight will break all kinds of financial records.

It's expected that the secondary ticket value of the tickets for this fight will exceed any fight previously held.  Furthermore, Mayweather could earn $120 million or more, while Manny Pacquiao's split of the purse will likely be near $80 million.

Plus, the paper view buys are expected to be near or exceed record numbers as well.

In addition, it also makes me a bit sad being a boxing fan that this fight has come to fruition.  Not because I don't want to watch the fight, in fact it's because I don't know what the next highly anticipated fight is going to be.  These are the two big names left in the sport and after they duke it out, what other names do I need to see fight.

The short answer is there isn't.
