Kyle Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Liquor Sales
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Kyle man has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally selling alcohol on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
The Rapid City Journal reports that 49-year-old Thomas Dean Lays Hard was carrying 31 half-pint bottles of vodka, three boxes of 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor and a liter of vodka in his car when a tribal police officer stopped him.
It is illegal to sell or possess alcohol on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Lays Hard faces up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced in January.
