Kritenbrink Named To US Collegiate National Team
VERMILLION, SD — South Dakota junior Kendall Kritenbrink has been named to the U.S. Collegiate National Team program that will train and compete in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships in Minneapolis from June 22 to July 1.
Kritenbrink is one of 36 athletes who were chosen by USA Volleyball for the program. The athletes were chosen based on evaluations from the U.S. Women’s National Team’s open tryouts in February or on past performances in the program. This program is considered a second tryout for the U.S. National Team.
After a training session, the program will divide the athletes into three equal teams that will compete in a round-robin format from June 27-30 at the junior national championships. The event may add an international team to increase the field to four and compete from June 26-30.
Kritenbrink was The Summit League’s Player of the Year last season after ranking first in the league in kills (557), points (645.5) and points per set (5.4). She is second on USD’s all-time kills list (1,426) and is fifth among active NCAA D-I players in kills per set (4.4).
