Many people were instantly excited when it was announced that Kenny Chesney was coming to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Many did not leave disappointed.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect before going to the show on June 18. I've heard from people that he puts on one of the best concerts you could see. I didn't want to buy into the hype too much, because I didn't want it to become a disappointment.

Last night as I was leaving the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, I wasn't anywhere near disappointed. I was happy that I attended the show.

When a guy has over 20 number one top songs in his career, it would be hard to fit them all in. Fortunately he did get most in, but left out a few such as "The Boys of Fall." The benefit would be that each show he does seems to be a little different when it comes to his setlist.

There was a couple of technical hiccups, at least from where I was sitting. We could hardly hear Chesney at the beginning of the show as the band was completely drowning out his microphone. This also happened once towards the end of the show.

Chesney's set took him to about one hour and 40 minutes in terms of total time. His first hour went by super quick, as I looked at my girlfriend and was astonished that time had gone that fast. His show had such a good flow to it that the show was enjoyable and never felt long. On top of that, the production (including an awesome disco ball) was amazing.

I've also never seen an artist stick around as long as Kenny did post show. His band kept playing parts of "Big Green Tractor" as Kenny, and opener Chase Rice, went around the stage signing autographs for all the fans. He also did his staple guitar giveaway to a lucky young fan near the stage. This left a great last impression on me.

If Chesney is coming to your area, I highly suggest you give it a shot. He is an amazing performer and gets his audience involved. I've also heard from people who have attended his stadium shows that those are even better. Overall, he put on a strong performance at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
