Kelsea Ballerini fans are going to miss her the next couple of weeks — but it’s for a good cause. The star says she’s taking a break from social media, not so much as a cleanse, but to focus on finishing up her new album.

Ballerini posted a photo on Instagram Jan. 19 declaring her plan to retreat from her social platforms, saying she’s taking the time to create, write and finish the upcoming sophomore record.

After spending time traveling, Ballerini says she’s chomping at the bit to get back to the creative aspects of her job, using her experiences to fuel the new material.

"I want to make sure that every second is spent with intention and focus so I can make something beautiful to share with you guys when it's ready and when I'm ready,” she writes, before signing off with a huge “LOVE YOU” to her fans.

Ballerini’s accounts will continue to keep fans posted via her team, but for now, the singer-songwriter is officially off the grid. It’s likely to be well worth the wait, though, as Ballerini’s second album is one of the most anticipated among all the breakout stars in country. She was just nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Artist category, up against the equally powerful and talented Maren Morris.

Her latest single “Yeah Boy” continues to climb the charts, following her No. 1 “Peter Pan” — both from her debut, The First Time. Recently named to Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, Ballerini is slated to perform at the Nashville Symphony Fashion Show in April, and she’s headed out on the Home Team Tour with Thomas Rhett, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd this spring.

The young star also got engaged to singer-songwriter Morgan Evans over Christmas.
