Despite the sunny skies and his sunny demeanor, Keith Urban brought the blues to the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series stage on Friday (Aug. 12) with his slow-swinging tune “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” But no one came away feeling melancholy.

The song — a wooing attempt to cheer up a broken-hearted woman — has a classic sound that Urban wears well, skillfully playing his Telecaster and charming the audience with his smile in between lines.

Fans loved the Aussie's laid-back performance of the tune from his most recent record, Ripcord, which is a bit of a departure for the artist in many ways. Though it was not written by him, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” fits well with Urban’s past sensibilities, but several other songs were a risk for him — a collaboration with rapper Pitbull, for instance.

Written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey and Clint Lagerberg, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” is the latest single from the album, following “Wasted Time,” “Break on Me” and “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16."

Urban is currently on the Ripcord Tour around North America, bringing with him Maren Morris and Brett Eldredge. Carrie Underwood joins later this year for dates in Australia and New Zealand.
